Oh The Places You Will Go..

Been in the library recently [you know the place that's really quiet with the computers and the rows and rows of shelves filled with books...yeah] to do a little re-evaluating of myself. Who better to help you become a better person in life than Dr. Seuss? I sat in there on the floor for hours reading The Cat in the Hat, Horton Hears A Who, Green Eggs and Ham, and of course Oh The Places You Will Go. Reading these makes me think on how I view people and how people view me. It hits me. I have an AWESOME team that loves me for how smartassed, goofy, energetic, crybaby, crazyfaced, overemotional I am just as much as I love them. I'm DEEPLY flawed, believe me, but my imperfections make me perfect for me being the person I am suppose to be. Nobody else matters. And who am I to pick out others flaws? All I can do is embrace them with loving arms to be themselves. So MANY people try to fit in or stand out to fit in its ridiculous. Its like a reality version of the Stepford wives [GREAT movie. The original not the remake.] I just know that I'm on the right path to becoming myself. Realizing that gives that extra boost in life that takes you places you never imagined. Thanks Dr. Seuss may he rest in peace. =]

*Wake Up to QNT*

Sssoo...these past few weeks in my Com 241 Class (Radio Performance & Production) we had to perform our production final which was to produce an one-hour radio show. We had to work the sound board, microphones, music, commercials, talk, news, the works! My group, which consisted of my homies T'Keyah & Nico, performed our show this past Tuesday & we were AWESOME! I love them so much & love the chemistry we all have..it just works. We had so much fun doing it that we decided that we wanted to have our own show for next semester! Wish us luck that we pull through! Tell us what you think.  We do have pictures of us while we were in the booth, but they haven't been posted yet so they'll come soon. (And need I remind yall this IS radio so you would be listening to words & music & NOT viewing NOTHING! Just FYI)

As I Am..Diary Entry #1

Sooo...lately I've been more down than up about school & I don't know what it is about the end of a semester, but it always makes me a little lazier than when I started. iSleep, iEat, iProcrastinate, iStress more than ever, & iAM not my normal ray of sunshine. This is usually the time I have to remind myself why I am in school & what my purpose & dreams are. Even remembering that I am not the only one benefiting from my future achievements. My insane, pessimistic, weird family [seen below & excuse the picture...its the best one we took] is as well, being they motivate me to want to do ever so much more for them than I will do for myself. For you to get to know me personally & better, I'll start off my telling you my dream I'm striving for now.

  • To get my degree in Communications with focus on Radio/Tv/Film
    • That goal is mainly focused on radio
  • With that I'm moving the hell out of Alabama. My dreams are TOO big to be staying here.
  • Move to be a radio personality in either Miami or Los Angeles.
    • (iLOVE being at the soundboard and creating a radio show. Its like electricity flowing through my veins & gives me one of the best feelings I've ever experienced in life)
Then the rest of my dreams is solely based on family, but that's another entry. Thinking about my passion & what iWant to do with it & go beyond what I was meant to be & do in life gives me the mental vitamins iNeed to make it through this crazy school. When you're not feeling your best in school, what part of your dream gives you the sensation that just awakes you?

P.S. Excuse my radio pictures. Rainy day in the lab. =)

Old Friends Turn to New Inspiration

See her? Her? ^^^^^^^^ that woman above? This lovely doll right here is apart of my motivation.  I have known her since we were little girls in pink tights/pink leotards running around the ballet studio at the Alabama School of Fine Arts and in white round collared shirts and plaid jumpers at Sardis Christian School (elementary). Sadly, (without knowing) she and her family moved to Atlanta. She's one of my friends on Facebook and like many others I have been observing her love for life (i just sounded stalkerish...not intended lol) She has AMAZING style and a personality to match. She does BIG things and I admit do get a teeny jealous, but I remember that my time will come. She has her own television show on Vanderbuilt's school channel and does many other activities on campus. Not only that but she did an internship with the company of MTV and it's sister companies in New f'n York....NEW YORK! The city and gives you a brand new life! The city that knows of no judgement. And I can only imagine how beautifully overwhelming it was to live there and breathe the city air. She's doing spectacular things and it makes me want to get on track to go over and beyond and I know i will. We're both in Communications so hopefully one day we'll reconnect and work together in future sense. Kudos to you Ms. Ellis! *Muah* Loves you!

Fabulosity At Its Best

So I had to have a post dedicated to someone that I do admire in the state of being a great business woman, mogul, model, fashionista, no bull sh*tter, and just a fabulous woman in general. KLS, better known as Kimora Lee Simmons, is a role model to me in all the ways stated. I admire her drive and passion for what the little things she has in life. I LOVE her show Life in the Fab Lane. It shows her at her strongest moments as well as her weakest. She let's us into her business corporation showing women how to rule with an iron fist and how to put the stiletto pump styled foot down as well as showing her softer side as a mommy of 3 and a new wife to the sexy bodied Djimon Hounsou.  The lovely couple does balance each other out quite well I might add. (And when I find my hubby we taking a picture just like the one above so he BETTER be fit) She does all of this while looking beautiful and gorgeous. Kudos to you Kimora! *muah*
