*Wake Up to QNT*

Sssoo...these past few weeks in my Com 241 Class (Radio Performance & Production) we had to perform our production final which was to produce an one-hour radio show. We had to work the sound board, microphones, music, commercials, talk, news, the works! My group, which consisted of my homies T'Keyah & Nico, performed our show this past Tuesday & we were AWESOME! I love them so much & love the chemistry we all have..it just works. We had so much fun doing it that we decided that we wanted to have our own show for next semester! Wish us luck that we pull through! Tell us what you think.  We do have pictures of us while we were in the booth, but they haven't been posted yet so they'll come soon. (And need I remind yall this IS radio so you would be listening to words & music & NOT viewing NOTHING! Just FYI)

As I Am..Diary Entry #1

Sooo...lately I've been more down than up about school & I don't know what it is about the end of a semester, but it always makes me a little lazier than when I started. iSleep, iEat, iProcrastinate, iStress more than ever, & iAM not my normal ray of sunshine. This is usually the time I have to remind myself why I am in school & what my purpose & dreams are. Even remembering that I am not the only one benefiting from my future achievements. My insane, pessimistic, weird family [seen below & excuse the picture...its the best one we took] is as well, being they motivate me to want to do ever so much more for them than I will do for myself. For you to get to know me personally & better, I'll start off my telling you my dream I'm striving for now.

  • To get my degree in Communications with focus on Radio/Tv/Film
    • That goal is mainly focused on radio
  • With that I'm moving the hell out of Alabama. My dreams are TOO big to be staying here.
  • Move to be a radio personality in either Miami or Los Angeles.
    • (iLOVE being at the soundboard and creating a radio show. Its like electricity flowing through my veins & gives me one of the best feelings I've ever experienced in life)
Then the rest of my dreams is solely based on family, but that's another entry. Thinking about my passion & what iWant to do with it & go beyond what I was meant to be & do in life gives me the mental vitamins iNeed to make it through this crazy school. When you're not feeling your best in school, what part of your dream gives you the sensation that just awakes you?

P.S. Excuse my radio pictures. Rainy day in the lab. =)

Tamia +Anita Baker= Priceless

Usually it is very rare that I look at BET, especially at their award shows, but when I heard that the Soul Train Awards were doing a tribute and honoring the wonderful, talented, and flawlessly beautiful Anita Baker!?...I had to tune in. She has one of the best soothing, seductive voices next to Sade and Toni Braxton. The tribute to her was absolutely perfect! My favorite was Tamia singing Giving You the Best That I Got. It was amazingly done! Did you know that Anita introduced Tamia to her adorable hubby Grant Hill? I know Tamia was thrilled when asked to do the tribute. It was tastefully done and I enjoyed watching it. If you missed it, I have to clip of Mrs. Hill singing the sultry song. Enjoy!

Old Friends Turn to New Inspiration

See her? Her? ^^^^^^^^ that woman above? This lovely doll right here is apart of my motivation.  I have known her since we were little girls in pink tights/pink leotards running around the ballet studio at the Alabama School of Fine Arts and in white round collared shirts and plaid jumpers at Sardis Christian School (elementary). Sadly, (without knowing) she and her family moved to Atlanta. She's one of my friends on Facebook and like many others I have been observing her love for life (i just sounded stalkerish...not intended lol) She has AMAZING style and a personality to match. She does BIG things and I admit do get a teeny jealous, but I remember that my time will come. She has her own television show on Vanderbuilt's school channel and does many other activities on campus. Not only that but she did an internship with the company of MTV and it's sister companies in New f'n York....NEW YORK! The city and gives you a brand new life! The city that knows of no judgement. And I can only imagine how beautifully overwhelming it was to live there and breathe the city air. She's doing spectacular things and it makes me want to get on track to go over and beyond and I know i will. We're both in Communications so hopefully one day we'll reconnect and work together in future sense. Kudos to you Ms. Ellis! *Muah* Loves you!

Gobble gobble, Charlie Brown!

Sooo..Thursday I was in radio lab checking the time Grey's Anatomy comes on so I DEFINATELY won't miss it. When I saw the ABC schedule, I saw that the Thanksgiving special of Charlie Brown was coming on! The kid in me was super/extra excited! I love the holiday season because all the good specials come on tv and bring so much spirit to the season.  Charlie Brown is what I am so anxious to look at every Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Valentine's Day. Of course Snoopy is my favorite character! I always wanted a beagle that looked just like Snoopy when I was little but instead I got a pitbull I called Sugar. =/ ANYWHO...I always loved the banter between Snoopy and Woodstock. They are just the funniest! You know what I holiday special I look forward to...what about you?

Rainy Days Make You Play...

Sooo...(i just realized im starting all my entries out like that lol) it's a rainy, drab day here in Florence, AL.  But just because Mother Nature wants to cry & be cold hearted doesn't mean your oufit should fit her mood. I wanted to wear my new boots that were a gift from Charlotte Russe for the longest & thought today would be the day.  I love them! Glad I did wear them too because the first 10mins hurt like a mf'er running to my car to get to class on time, but as the day went on I ended up breaking them in. I see the rain didn't stop me either as my friends T'Keyah & Aftan (seen in the pictures above mine) is an example of that. I didn't have my camera to get pictures of T'Keyah (Sad day) but she'll pop up on here soon because she's always looking adorable. I decided I wanted some snapshots of our outfits today and since we didn't have anything else to do we did it. We are in NO WAY trying to model or be models. We are simply radio/tv majors behind cameras and a mic. lol Hope ya'll are having a good day. ^_^

Ooh Na Na What's My Name?

Sooo..saw this video and heard the song for the first time yesterday and I absolutely adored it! I think Drizzy and RiRi are a cute couple. She apparently seems that she still may have a few feelings for the ex-Degrassi favorite turned Young Money rapper. If not, she's one hell of an actress towards him because he seems very genuine in this piece. But I love the song and video and maybe there's a future for these two. hhmm...

Fabulosity At Its Best

So I had to have a post dedicated to someone that I do admire in the state of being a great business woman, mogul, model, fashionista, no bull sh*tter, and just a fabulous woman in general. KLS, better known as Kimora Lee Simmons, is a role model to me in all the ways stated. I admire her drive and passion for what the little things she has in life. I LOVE her show Life in the Fab Lane. It shows her at her strongest moments as well as her weakest. She let's us into her business corporation showing women how to rule with an iron fist and how to put the stiletto pump styled foot down as well as showing her softer side as a mommy of 3 and a new wife to the sexy bodied Djimon Hounsou.  The lovely couple does balance each other out quite well I might add. (And when I find my hubby we taking a picture just like the one above so he BETTER be fit) She does all of this while looking beautiful and gorgeous. Kudos to you Kimora! *muah*

Ain't No Bugs, Mugs!

Okay so you know when you have those random moments where something pops in your head and makes you laugh? I just had one of those when I was in the shower washing my hair (yeah, I had it there and don't think about me in the shower..Its disturbing). This is what came in my head. Remember this?

LOL cute huh? Now you know good and well you remember this! Well, I started humming it once,....then agian...then I found myself on repeat. As a result of that repeat, this came into the mix..

MADE YOU LAUGH! lol Welcome to my mind. Now you can't say I didn't at least make you smile...=) Anyways, thought I'd share!

Ferg-a-rama!

Since I was so excited about getting Fergie's perfume, I've been blasting her songs since then like they brand new. Out of all of them, Glamorous is the one that stuck out in my head. Every woman should remember that when she steps out the door, she is glamorous no matter the circumstance. Every woman should be like Fergie describes her fragrance:
"Outspoken is for the woman who needs no introduction. With her fearless confidence, she lets her true personality shine through. True to herself and her beliefs...she is Outspoken. Sexy. Fearless. Unexpected."

Love And Thrift Shops

Sooo Friday, me & one of the besties checked out some places in Florence..just to explore.  I decided to check out this store called Fashion Exchange that's next to Ricebox. The store was preety awesome.  Found some preety neat things. I bought a cool gold-chained belt [so using it as a necklace], a red bow belt, a silver bracelet, & a black beaded bracelet. [The pictures of them are below] Saved preety good money there. We went to the sister store Hope's Chest but I forgot to take pictures. Still getting in the habit of this. The best day of the week was Thursday! My bestie's mom sells Avon and she gave me a sh*t load of things for my birthday. I got a ton of makeup, a watch, and perfume, including Fergie's new fragrance Outspoken. It smells SOOOOO good! Kudos to Fergie! I basically looked regular all week minus the days I went to work & had on a little pink shadow & mascara. Nothing big. That's it for this week.
